Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information CineBond collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. CineBond is operated by Güney Köse ("we," "us," or "our").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive:
- A unique user identifier from Apple or Google.
- Your display name and profile photo (if provided by your social account).
- Your email address (used only for account management).
You also choose a username that is visible to other CineBond users.
Content You Create
- Movies you mark as watched, added to watchlists, or rated.
- Watchlists you create (name, description, members, visibility setting).
- Movie reviews and ratings you post.
- Friend connections and activity visible in your feed.
Usage & Device Data
- Push notification token (for delivering friend request and watchlist invitation alerts).
- App interaction data processed by Firebase Analytics.
- Crash and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Payment card details (handled entirely by Apple's App Store).
- Precise location data.
- Contacts or address books.
- Microphone or camera data.

4. Data Visibility & Social Features
CineBond is a social app. Certain information is visible to other users by default:
- Public by default: username, profile photo, public watchlists, friend count.
- Friends-only (if you set Friends Only visibility): your activity feed, seen movies, and private watchlists.
- Always private: email address, sign-in method, notification token.
You can change your profile visibility to Friends Only in Settings → Privacy, and you can make individual watchlists private when creating or editing them.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account via Settings, the following is permanently removed within 30 days:
- Your profile, username, and photo.
- All watchlists you own.
- Your movie ratings and reviews.
- Your friend connections and activity history.
Aggregated, anonymised analytics data (no personally identifiable information) may be retained for longer periods for service improvement.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including:
- Firebase Authentication with server-side token validation.
- Firestore Security Rules to enforce access control (users can only access data they own or are authorised to view).
- HTTPS encryption in transit for all API requests.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your device and Apple/Google account credentials secure.
7. Children's Privacy
CineBond is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (via Edit Profile in the app).
- Delete your data (via Delete Account in Settings).
- Opt out of push notifications (via iOS Settings → Notifications → CineBond).

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of CineBond after the update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
